Description | The Caves, Site 1 is located on the reef floor, located directly offshore from Mooloolaba. Site 1 is located at 10 metres depth on the reef floor and is characterised by scattered rocky outcrops surrounded by coral, sponge and a collapsed cave structure. This site has been surveyed annually since 2009. |

Description | The Caves, Site 2 is situated approximately 150m parallel to Site 1. This site was added to the Reef Check Australia reef health survey site list in 2013 to gain a better understanding of this highly utilised reef structure. The reef has scattered rocky outcrops with hard coral (mostly encrusting and foliose), soft coral, sponge and a collapsed cave structure. Note this is named SCUBA World Caves on our map. |

Description | The Caves, Site 3 is located approximately 50m parallel to Site 1. It is characterised by scattered rocky outcrops with hard coral (mostly encrusting and foliose), soft coral, sponge and a collapsed cave structure, hence the name. This site was added in 2014 to gain a better understanding of this heavily utilised reef. |
